On Charlie Rangel's death

Yesterday Charlie Rangel, the Harlem native who represented that district in congress for 46 years, died in Harlem days before his birthday

the governor of New York has ordered statewide tributes in his memory even before the funeral details have been announced
No matter what you thought of him Charlie Rangel was always a stand up guy and a rascal who made Harlem a place to chill out in as I learned during my visits there. Coming soon after Peter David's death NYC is losing a lot of cool people.
