On Yalda / Winter Solstice 2024 at the Newport Tower - day 1

 This morning I arrived at the Newport Tower shortly after sunrise, where I got to see the first alignment

I waited around for the second alignment, which would only appear for a few seconds because of the clouds. Only Jim Egan and some passersby showed up, yet only Jim understood the importance of the leap year
I was shocked to see some trash left in the Tower which was not removed
Tomorrow will prove to be interesting
